measurements + conversions

Lingerie can be notoriously difficult to shop online for ~ particularly when you are looking at different brands. We've created some resources to help with this that covers how to measure yourself, EU/US to NZ size conversions, and information on sister sizing.

How to measure

Follow the steps below to measure yourself accurately, then use the measurement to bra size tool to find your size.

  • Wear a non-padded bra that fits you well and that sits snugly around your ribcage.
  • Take a soft measuring tape or ribbon and stand in front of a mirror.

BAND

  • Measure your underbust by wrapping the tape around your ribcage, directly underneath your breasts and on top of where your bra band lays. The tape should be quite snug, but not digging in.
  • Make a note of the measurement to the nearest cm.

BUST

  • Measure your bust by wrapping the tape around the fullest part of your breasts, making sure the tape is level and not too loose or too tight
  • Make a note of this measurement to the nearest cm.

With these two measurements noted down, compare these against the bra size table below.

Sister sizing

Sister sizing is a clever tool to use when a bra is unavailable in your size, or you prefer a slightly looser or tighter fit in the band of your bra.

For example, if you usually wear a 14C you could also try the 12D, which has the same cup volume but a smaller band size. Use the following table to find your sister size:

32B
32C 34B
32D 34C 36B
32DD 34D 36C 38B
32E 34DD 36D 38C

Note: while sister sizing is a clever trick that we wish we had learnt earlier in life, it's not a perfect solution, and we recommend trying different sizes to find the most comfortable and supportive fit.

Elements of a good fit

How do you know if the bra is fitting correctly?

First off, it should be comfortable for you. It's not digging in, you're not shuffling things around too much, you're not trying to pull the cup up.

About the band - a snug fit is to be expected from the bra on its first wear, we recommend you start on the loosest hook so that you have room to adjust the bra as the fabric adjusts to your form.

The band is the most important part of the bra as it provides the majority of the support. If it is riding up your back, the band is too big - email us for an exchange before you cut out the tags and wear it out of the house.

About the cup - if the top seam of the cup is creating an indent that you can see through a t-shirt, you may need a larger cup size. Make sure your whole breast is sitting within the wires - no seeping.
